About us

As a society, we aim to promote Belgian culture at the University of Cambridge and to provide a supportive, social network for students with (and without) ties to Belgium.

We do all sorts of things: receptions, formal dinners, chocolate and beer tastings, Wafflemas... Our Term Card contains an overview of the planned events, for which details will be shared on our socials.

Note that we cater towards current members of the University of Cambridge, while the Cambridge Society of Belgium is for alumni.

Our objectives

The Cambridge University Belgian Society is a friendly and welcoming society for Belgians and non-Belgians at the University of Cambridge. The Society is guided by the following objectives:

  1. To promote Belgian culture at the University of Cambridge by way of cultural and culinary events.
  2. To facilitate the transition of Belgian students to life at the University of Cambridge through a supportive network and welcoming events.
  3. To encourage an esprit de corps amongst its members by way of social and cultural events.
  4. To contribute to the cultural diversity at the University of Cambridge by positively engaging with other cultural, sporting and social societies within the University of Cambridge and other universities in the United Kingdom.
